You've created your first site and you're ready to share your content with the world! First up, you should decide how you want to protect your site.

Molti offers 3 site security settings:

  • No Password

  • Single Password

  • Molti User

Let's review these settings so you can decide what makes the most sense for you and your content.

No Password - This setting allows anyone with your site URL to your site.  Keep in mind, this is freely accessible to anyone on the internet so this setting should be used for content that is meant to be freely shared.

Single Password - Predictably, this allows you to set a password to limit access to your site.  Users will need the site URL and the password you set in order to access your site.  This gives you more control over who is accessing your site.

Molti User - Unlike the previous settings, 'Molti User' limits site access to users with molti accounts.  You send invitations to your site through the site setup page.  If a user has a molti account, they will receive the invitation and be granted access to the site.  If a user does not have a molti account, they will be sent an invite to create one.  This setting is the most secure since you can grant site access to specific users.  It also allows you to create a different site experience for all users.  Read this article for more information on configuring the Molti User security setting

When determining your site security, its a good idea to decide if you want your information to be publicly accessible.  Keep your intended audience in mind when you make this setting selection.
